I happened upon this place with my daughter and spent a very relaxed half an hour or more exploring. There's a really good mix of stuff over 3 floors and although I'm no expert, a lot of the prices seemed reasonable. The guy who was in attendance was very helpful and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit in my opinion - we'll be back!
Lovely antique shop with eclectic selection of interesting merchandise. Found a lovely Victorian ring for a good price. Would happy return and browse again!
49 Cockburn St, Edinburgh EH1 1BS, UK – 0131 226 3391
Just stumbled across this little shop. It is a very tiny antique shop with lots of interesting things (at very reasonable prices). The couple who were running the shop were really friendly and kind. We loved having a chat with them. From Joe of York and Nelli of Finland!!!
Very tiny shop. Only around 4 adults will fit in here at a time. They have a good selection of smaller-type antiques and some cool military items. The staff was very friendly and the prices decent too.
208 & 210 Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 5EQ, UK – 0131 629 5482
A delightful shopping experience. Starting from the beautiful window display along Leith Walk which drew me inside, the interior is filled with a treasure trove of vintage and antique porcelain, glassware, silver jewellery, furniture and all sorts of ornaments. Even if you're not looking to buy anything, the owners are friendly and happy to chat. Very affordable. I'll definitely be back again!
An unexpected delight! A proper antiques shop with a good range of stock at very reasonable prices. Lots of tempting things to take home or give as presents. The owner is friendly and clearly knows his stuff. I'll certainly be visiting it again.

I got my hair cut on Saturday and I had a great experience. First of all, I called really last minute to get an appointment and explained that I’d be coming on my lunch break from work, I was given an appointment straight away and the man on the phone was very friendly and helpful. When I arrived Amy (who also cut my hair) took my coat straight away and offered me a drink. The decor is lovely, the atmosphere is great and all of the members of staff were smiley and inviting. Just what you want when you go to a salon! Amy made a fantastic job of cutting my hair and she done exactly what I asked for. I will definitely be back, I highly recommend this place.
My daughter and I had our hair cut by Amy. All the staff were lovely and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The service was good quality and an excellent price. Will definitely be back!

A one stop beauty salon with a great team of girls all highly trained and experienced. This hidden gem in stockbridge is a family run business that really goes the extra mile to make you feel and look wonderful.
Fantastic service and excellent attention to detail. These ladies really know what they're doing!
341 Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 8SD, UK – 0131 554 1612
Amazing service! I had an express facial done which was so good for my skin and very relaxing! , express gel pedicure and manicure. Very friendly staff and Sammy who does the beauty treatments does a wonderful job. Couldn't be more happier with my treatments!
Been here several times and they are really accomodating. They've given me some fab haircuts which were just what I wanted and have been able to give me excellent advice on dying and bleaching my hair. Lovely chill atmosphere in the salon, they're lovely chatty people.

I absolutely love this bookshop. The selection of non-fiction is the best I've come across outside London and the staff are fantastic. It's great that there is a place to get a coffee and sit for a few hours on comfy couches and read a big bunch of maths and physics textbooks.
U can buy good quality books here an puzzles plus jigsaw games any other things as well
3a-4a Haddington Pl, Edinburgh EH7 4AE, UK – 0131 556 5897
Wonderful book store, we were living close by and went here three times, each time greeted warmly with free offers like white wine in the evening, tea when it was raining outside and good company. Also neighbour to a really great antique book store. Truly felt like home. If I'm ever in Edinburgh again I'll definitely return. As a wise man once said: "This do in remembrance of me".
It's a very nice little store, perfect for book worms and old fashioned writers (the writing machines were really inspiring!) I loved the very warm welcome, it's not just another store, it's a nice place to go. You can sit in different spots with different atmosphere to read or just enjoy a chat. I saw gorgeous editions and interesting books. Definitively in my to do list next time I'm in Edinburgh !

41 St Clair St, Edinburgh EH6 8LB, UK – 0131 656 9900
Great service from this local family business. Needed some brake pads and oil for my van. Didn't need to order or wait just popped into their depot on Leith and picked up the parts. Great service at an affordable price.
Always used pentland from way back, usually the old veiwforth branch but over the years I've always had good service at pentland.

Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 5BX, UK – 0131 553 2126
Absolutely stellar service. I rang up to arrange to bring my elderly television in, and when I described the problem, Paul told me what the issue was likely to be, and what it would be likely to cost to put right. When I brought it in, he looked at it for less than a minute, saw that it was in 'deep standby', turned it on for me, explained what had happened and why, and refused to take any payment. He also offered me a free second-hand remote control. I chose to bring my telly there because of the brilliant reviews he had received, and he definitely deserves every one of those positive reviews. Although there was nothing actually wrong with my telly, it's not something I could have done myself, and I would have been perfectly happy to pay him for his expertise, but he wouldn't take anything. I'm completely delighted, and recommend him wholeheartedly. He clearly knows his stuff and it's fantastic to find someone who could have taken the telly in and charged a lot of money, but didn't. I'd give him ten stars if I could.
Always friendly, helpful and extremely competent. Have used them on several occasions. Highly recommended!

Summerside Pl, Edinburgh EH6 4PA, UK – 07518 984863
Just bought an A3 s-line from Mandi... cars immaculate inside and out especially for having done 92000 miles. Was very helpful in getting the process through. I would likely go back when done with this one and looking for next car.
Nice place, very professional.
21 McDonald Pl, Edinburgh EH7 4NH, UK – 0131 556 5658
If you are inclined to buy from the owner, Fraser - 1. Make sure the car is properly vetted by reputable firm like the AA, someone that knows cars 2. Make sure any agreements are in writing!!! Discussions best emailed so you have written confirmation 3. Confirm! confirm! confirm! BE WARNED
Having read the reviews on here, i was sceptical about visiting the garage. There is always a chance that reviews are written by bad customers so i checked them out myself and couldnt have been happier with the service. A great car, great service and would have no hesitation in recommending them. Its a shame people only ever review for negative reasons and i am sure these are no reflection on Edinburgh Motor Co. The owner was very helpful, and reminded me that after selling hundreds of cars to only have 3 upset people was pretty good, a fair point i suppose!

Fuel-dispensing facility which supplies most, if not all, of the currently popular varieties of vehicle fuel, including unleaded petrol, diesel, and others; the pumps are self-service with nozzles designed to fit inside the fuel-intake cavity of most motorcars, vans and motorbikes. There is a shop and kiosk selling sweets, mags and drinks and a variety of other produce and a cheery wee man behind the counter
Excellent venue to buy petrol. 5/5 would refuel again!
23 Canonmills, Edinburgh EH3 5HA, UK – 0131 557 0556
A truly splendid and magnificent place to stop off if you find that your motor-car is in need of a topping-up with fuel. These delightful people will be only too happy to help, and indeed, you are invited to dispense the petrol or diesel from pump to car by your own fair hand and at your discretion, putting in as much or as little as you yourself may deem necessary
Pricey petrol, but they have a wee M&S here which is great for last-minute quick dinners.

Top mechanic, and very nice guy. Honest and fair. Did a great job servicing my bike. Really fast turn around too. Will definitely be going back.
22 Manderston St, Edinburgh EH6 8LY, UK – 07711 937019
I was really impressed with Tyler’s work on my BMW. He was extremely thorough, uncovered some issues I had not noticed, did a really professional job and ensured everything was perfect. I felt totally confident in the work - and immediately afterward did a 700 mile round trip to Wales and back in hideous weather. The bike ran smoothly throughout. I’m going to use North Motorcycles regularly from now on.
I own a BMW R1150R - Rockster / Edition 80 I was at Edinburgh at the time, and getting ready to relocate for my seasonal job at the Highlands, Scotland I had issues with my ABS braking system at the time, and due to the remoteness and long millage that I will be doing when at the Highlands, I wanted the bike to be in a very good condition before I begin my trip there I came across Tyler (the motorcycle mechanic) by coincidence. I was out and about visiting different garages, searching for a good mechanic, when I came across him A new face in town, with hopes to establish himself I liked him from the very beginning. He had an easy going approach, pleasant to have a conversation with and was very knowledgeable and honest My trust came when I entered his garage, and before even speaking with him, my eye caught two vintage motorcycles sitting aside, which were fully refurbished by him from scratch. Beautiful bikes and very well maintained I remember telling myself, this must be a knowledgeable mechanic considering the work that he has done on these two vintage bikes Decided to give him the assignment and hoped for the best I gave him a budget that I was comfortable with, and asked him to treat my bike as if it was his own He did just that. He remained within my budget, fully informed me what had to be done upfront before beginning any work, he remained within the time frame that I gave him, did an excellent work, and most importantly he was very pleasant to deal with and honest at all times He works hard, his very good in what he does, his pleasant and his honest For these reasons I would recommend him, and I will certainly use him again for myself in the future I consider myself lucky that I came across him, when I was in need for someone I am confident that on the long run he will do well in his line of business, and I sincerely wish him all the best, as good people should always be supported These are my sincere thoughts Hope that all the above helps with choosing the right mechanic Fotis

I had an accident in September 2017, where I was hit from behind by a car and both myself and my bike ended up in a ditch. I cannot recommend Motorcycle Law enough for all their help and assistance, from start to finish. Carrie Burrows made the whole process as simple as possible explaining everything along the way and keeping me up to date at every step. First class, friendly service
I had an accident in May 2016 where I collided with a car that hadn't given way. A former instructor pointed me in the direction of Motorcycle Scotland who spoke very highly of them. I have to say I didn't have a clue what I was doing but Brenda and Carrie walked me through every step of the way, explaining each step as it progressed, extremely helpful! My claim was settled in around 18 months due to my injuries, but well worth the wait! If I had the need to use their services again I wouldn't hesitate to get in contact.

Grab a literary bargain in Oxfam Books - a wonderful and inexpensive resource for book lovers of all tastes. There's a great Scottish section where you'll find books about Scottish history, art, poetry and places and you can usually find work by some of Scotland's best novelists. Of course all books are donated so stock will always vary. Kid's books are often to be found and there are usually some collectors' pieces for sale. Include a visit among a trawl of Stockbridge's many nearby charity shops, not forgetting Oxfam Music just across the road.
Great little charity book shop! It was smaller than I hope it would be but the books are in good condition and have reasonable prices (the academic books a bit less)
29-31 Deanhaugh St, Edinburgh EH4 1LR, UK – 0131 343 1771
This is a great little store. very thoughtfully presented in more of a boutique style than some of the other charity shops in town. Staff are always lovely and helpful. Just got a great pair of Zara jeans for £7 last time I was in. Well worth a look anytime you're in Stockbridge
Scored a pair of binoculars for £7 in here once. Bargain!

Great shop. The woman who runs it knows her stuff and was very helpful. I was buying shoes for my son.
Great service, nice range of shoes and very helpful staff who understand kids. Hairdressers are also great
46 St Stephen St, Edinburgh EH3 5AL, UK – 07842 798482
My kids call it ‘mummy’s favourite shop’ and it’s true. Not only do Bon Tot have an amazing collection of children’s wear, toys and clothes for me too. The service from Kris is 1st class. If I’m in with the kids she whips them away to draw, chat or feed the shop dog Frisco so that I can shop and if I’m shopping solo we have the best chats. I just hope that they keep expanding their size range as my kids grow.
Best kid’s shop in Scotland. The coolest brands, the warmest service and a really fun environment- my favourite place to shop for my little one!

The missus loves this place.Great quality and different than the usual high street tat.
100 George St, Edinburgh EH2 3DF, UK – 0131 220 4343
I was very well looked after. A proper tailor shop where they don't just sell you a suit. They measure you and help with styles to match your shape and look. Then they tailor the suit before you collect it. They have an awesome range. I ended up buying four excellent quality suits for an amazing price. I left feeling special and my suits give me that feeling every workday when I wear them. This is where I will buy all my suits going forward.
Amazing service! Walked in, barely used the measuring tape and put my OH in a suit that fitted perfectly. Exactly what he said he was looking for style-wise and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
7 Drumsheugh Place, Queensferry Street, Edinburgh EH3 7PT, UK – 0131 226 5582
Excellent products and service. I use it always.
Recently had a bespoke jacket and waistcoat made from some Harris Tweed and I really can't praise this place enough. Both fit perfectly and the difference in getting made to measure is clear. As well as fitting me precisely, the standard of the tailoring is exquisite. Down to the very small inner pocket detail - everything is perfect and has clearly been made by an expert tailor. Very reasonably priced and Derek is very helpful and knowledgable. Delighted with my items!

Nice boutique store with lots of brands that can be tricky to find
Superb, quality goods store. I have purchased a grand fisherman Symmetrical jumper, made by Andersen-Andersen. Also purchasing a Filson Alaskan shirt. The staff are hugely knowledgeable about the products and appear to produce little waste.
35 Dundas St, Edinburgh EH3 6QQ, UK – 0131 556 5554
One of the most excellent online shopping experiences I ever had - ordered an item on one day (from Berlin, Germany) around noon and got it the other day even before noon. Outstanding!
Beautiful shop - fantastic range of clothes and cashmere, beautiful contemporary styles, and cashmere designed and made in Scotland. Also shoes and accessories. I urge you to check this shop out!
48 Princes St, Edinburgh EH2 2YJ, UK – 0870 607 2841
Just to note, this is a concessions within Jenners (House of Fraser) on Princes St. Situated on the first floor, the quickest way to get in is probably via the entrance around the back on Rose Street. Not a huge selection, I would say the Oasis within House of Fraser at the West end has a bigger selection, and theres the stand alone store close by in Princes Mall.

St Mary’s Music School have worked with Grant McGregor for a number of years now and find the service they provide to be excellent. They respond quickly and the technical support team are very efficient and friendly. It gives great peace of mind knowing we have them supporting our school and I would happily recommend them to others.
My company has been a client of Grant McGregor since both we and they started up way back. We've maintained a first rate relationship with the company and they've always provided us with exactly what we neeed, when we need it. I would recommend them to anyone needing first rate IT support and advice. And always in language you understand.

Listened to issues with my wife's laptop, suggested a solution and quoted the costs. Returned two days later, as promised. Now works better than when first purchased. Thank you.
I would highly recommend User2. I have used them on a number of occasions and the service is first class. Being a local computer shop it’s easy to pop in and get their expertise on any issues I have, nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

I was looking for Toner cartridges for a Laser Printer so phoned Capital Cartridges and told them what I was looking for and they called me back promptly with a competitive price. Delivery was arranged direct to me which cut out a journey to Edinburgh. Paid by debit card job done . I prefer to shop local even if its by phone or email. A good small business giving their customer an excellent service . I would definetly recommend Capital Cartridges for your cartridge supplies.
Been using Capital Cartridges few years now and always a polite and efficient service and delivery service a real bonus. Raymond

My laptop was completely dead. He fixed it in no time at all (maybe couple of hours), hardly charged anything. And now it is way!!! Way better then it was before. I hardly recommend him!
Excellent speedy service. Fixed my audio amplifier, serviced laptop, & I recently asked these guys to build a custom PC which is working well for it's intended purpose. Very reasonable prices, useful advice, guaranteed work & laid back attitude. Recommended

Have fun stormin' the castle!
This is the one place you must stop on the way into the castle or out you can pick up a bargain or splash the cash for a special gift for someone the choice is yours but visit this is a must if you just browse around and see nothing you want, you never know without going in....
555 Castlehill, Edinburgh EH1 2ND, UK – 0131 225 8580
Interesting shop full of eclectic edged weapons and armour. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. I spent a good hour in here as there is so much to see. The prices were reasonable but I didn't buy as I was too worried about transporting a full size Claymore home on the plane.
It is a bit pricey but it's a good spot to buy some authentic souveniers
55 Bernard St, Edinburgh EH6 6SL, UK – 0131 554 4075
Very handy if you work or live in Leith for cards, jewellery and fair amount of small gifts. Helpful staff.
Paid £30 for a bracelet which in the space of 2 weeks has turned green and the little gems have fallen out, disappointing that it was not sterling silver. Shop was lovely and staff friendly

The Works is known for books, toys, gifts, stationery and arts & crafts. You will discover a huge range of products at great value prices. Every year more than 40,000 products are sold. At The Works, you will always find something unique from educational products to beautiful collection of gifts. I love the works and will be shopping soon again for Easter.
Nice shop for Scottish souvenirs, gadgets and more. Plus books, games and stationery. Worth a look around
117 Ferry Rd, Edinburgh EH6 4ET, UK – 0131 554 8943
Although this might not be the best Café in Edinburgh in terms of quality of coffee or when it comes to the offered pastries (or lack thereof), this is a great place for families. The staff is always friendly and Prices are fair, which makes it affordable for every family. It is nice to have a Café in which you can just sit down and play with your child(ren), whilst having a coffee. There are various activities every day of the week and parents can also get helpful advice on topics like breastfeeding and nap times.

Just had my bike serviced here. Really impressed with the work and the customer service. The guy only sold me exactly what I needed (even pointing me to a cheaper service), explained everything, and answered all my questions. Really helpful! Will definitely be coming back and have recommended to all my friends.
Good service, nice guys. Good local bike shop, got booked in and my back break fixed inside 48 hours.
66-68 Hamilton Pl, Edinburgh EH3 5AZ, UK – 07411 195119
Friendly expert service. Well worth it
Excellent bike fit which has made a huge difference to my road and time trial bike position. Douglas is friendly, knowledgeable and very professional, he is not forceful on new component buys which is a major plus to your bank balance compared to others! Never would I have imagined I would be comfortable in a time trial position but the retul system and Douglas service has done this, pain free and power gains for £250 (double bike fit).. You cant beat it! If you are on the edge of deciding to do it or struggle on, go for it! Best bike buy by miles, the figures do not lie! The detailed report you get afterwards will help for years to come! Its 5 stars from me! 500+ mile round trip was worthwhile after all! Keep up the good work! I have even decided to go back for my frame finder for my next project!
133 Granton Rd, Edinburgh EH5 3NJ, UK – 0131 552 0999
Ridgeback Electron: With its convenient step-though frame, relaxed geometry and upright position, the Ridgeback Electron is a great around-town bike. When paired with a front basket and panniers it would make the ideal shopping bike. Surprisingly quick and nimble, I had no trouble navigating my way up and down the cobbled hills of New Town. My first electric bike experience and it was much more enjoyable than I anticipated. Bike was loaned while mine was in the workshop.
We are delighted with our Bergamont e-bikes from the Electric Cycle Company. Neill and Richard could not have been more helpful when my husband and I were looking for bikes to take when touring in our motorhome. In particular they went to a great deal,of trouble to modify my suspension seat post. Must also say how amazing their mechanic is.
36 S Groathill Ave, Craigleith Retail Park, Edinburgh EH4 2LN, UK – 0345 640 7120
Great service, excellent selection of products and good prices.
I'd asked for a Christmas tree to be put aside for me and the staff had very kindly agreed to do this. I travelled quite a way in so was disappointed to find that the wrong size tree had been put aside, and no more potted trees were left (I'd searched everywhere in Edinburgh and this was my last option). The staff could not have been more helpful - they found me a cut tree of just the right size and a goodwill voucher to amend the error. Really kind of everyone to make this effort - thank you!

There is simply not anywhere near enough space here to even begin to describe my many varied experiences in and around the area of Leith Walk and in particular the shop know as Home Essentials. Vital Home Essentials provides every essential item for the home. From the semi holographic Elvis pictures to brooms and everything in between, this is the shop that drives the dynamic pulsating social hub that is Leith! This is where I met the man with an orange for a head. They also sell great advent candles in January, which is when all good satanists celebrate the coming of the lord. Today I was rudely ambushed by the God of the broken shoelace whilst I was on my way to film a documentary about mental health. Who was the angel that appeared to save me on a Sunday from such a predicament, Jesus? Jehova? A Mormon? Buddha? Nope! None of them batted so much as an eyelid as I was almost taken to the hell gods realm; forever to be tormented by broken shoelaces. The angel that came to my rescue was Vital Home Essentials. These people deserve to be worshiped. And I can now confirm that they do sell shoelaces in red and blue as well as the more conventional for Leith which is black and white. Most films that are shot in Leith are in the black and white format. But I digress, would you like to know more about how I met the man with an orange for a head?
Truly has everything vital for the home.

Very early morning collection so was reasonably quick. I have a feeling the next person who came in would have had a decent wait. Make sure you have proof of address/id/dvla code with you. Prepare for the little up-sell (insurance etc) and then a walk up escalator, across the station, down some stairs, across an outdoor carpark, into a building, down a lift and then into an underground car park to pick up your rental... oh, also, follow the signs for car rental rather than google maps... good luck!

This is a wonderful charity store with super friendly and welcoming staff and with lots of good quality, and sometimes exceptional quality furniture and accessories. Definitely worth perusing if you are after something for your home and are happy to purchase something "used".
Fantastic place in every way. There's a fair bit of new/expensive stuff here compared to Dalry road. Shipping is also more expensive here. But worth checking out.
27 W Bowling Green St, Edinburgh EH6 5NX, UK – 0131 553 6611
Excellent shop. Went to to get some new under unit lights for my kitchen (which I wasn't particularly looking forward to as generally I can't stand shopping) but the member of staff who served me was polite, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and 10 minutes later I was out the door with everything I needed for a good price. 10 out of 10. Many thanks.
Best in Edinburgh for price and in stock items.

I like to visit this store. But never buy there anything. Online I do d better prices. Staff nice but with almost no knowledge about their products.
Keiran is fantastically knowledge and extremely helpful.......a major asset to his employer !! (Carphone Warehouse) . I am delighted with the phone he recommended !!

Fioritalia did my wedding flowers last month and I was totally delighted with them! Giovanni was really helpful and took the time to discuss all my many questions. They created my bouquet, the bridesmaids bouquets (pictured below), the buttonholes for the men, and a foliage canopy in the church - all of which were stunning. I didn't have a set idea of what kind of flowers I wanted, but gave a budget and colour scheme which Fioritalia worked to. The flowers they delivered on the day totally exceeded my expectations. I would 100% recommend them as wedding florists!
Very helpful and arrived extremely quickly. Would definitely recommend.

We were really thrilled with our wedding flowers and have had a huge amount of very positive comments about the beautiful arrangements on the day. I was particularly pleased with my bouquet and am really grateful for the way in which Garlands effortlessly accommodated my request for sunflowers, presenting a very personal yet very pretty bouquet. Garlands provided a very professional, hassle free and friendly service. It is a huge relief when planning a wedding when you feel you can have 100 % confidence in those you are working with, and we most certainly felt that with Garland's.
Ordered flowers for my mums birthday they were spectacular and lasted lot longer than others I’ve purchased elsewhere
14 Montagu Terrace, Edinburgh EH3 5QX, UK – 0131 552 0244
I called at 13:05 on Mothers Day (last minute I know, I know!) and they pulled together two bouquets of flowers for my mother and also my grandmother for same day delivery - amazing! Life savers - would HIGHLY recommend!
Wow. The service is exceptional. Very Impressed... the flowers are stunning! Thank you Elliott Clark Flowers!!

As soon as you entered this cozy shop run by Italians, my wife and I immediately breathed the air of home! Local products and delicatessen on the ground floor and restaurant / bar on the first floor. Excellent food, polite and friendly staff. Highly recommended!!!
Very helpful staff, I'm pretty clueless about fine cheeses and meats but they were able to put together a great selection for me

I placed an order for 10 boxes of Artichoke Tea with Real Foods as it was a good price and I didn't have to pay postage. I got in to it in Vietnam. It's good for digestion. But it's not easy to find in the UK so I was delighted when I found Real Foods sold it. Shortly after I ordered I received an email saying they only had 8 boxes in stock and I could either just take the 8 boxes, but would have to pay postage as it brought me below their postage threshold, or wait until the could send all 10. As one of the reasons I had ordered with them was the free postage I chose to wait until they could deliver all 10 boxes and was pleasantly surprised that within a day or so they confirmed they could ship the full order which arrived yesterday, Saturday afternoon. Wonderful! they had said 2 working days so I had expected Monday or Tuesday. I would definitely use Real Foods again, and this would have been a 5 * but for the email that they couldn't deliver in full. Many thanks!
I order the Chicory regularly now as a perfect substitute for coffee. The quality of the product is outstanding. I love it! The service is perfect too: prompt delivery with regular updates about tracking, really well packaged and great value for money. Real Foods/Chicory was recommended to me by a friend and I must say I'm a big fan.

Nice wee shop with very helpful, approachable staff. Stocks some hard-to-find vegan favourites like Nutcrafter cheese, Sghaia mheats, and Booja-Booja chocolates.
Great selection of supplements and health foods, and amazing and knowledgeable staff that will help you to find the right thing.
8 Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9DH, UK – 0131 557 5534
A gem for fans of middle eastern cooking. The owner is very knowledgeable and happily gives free samples. Tried some lovely sage tea.
Really good greek yogurt, a huge selection of infusions and teas, really good selection of powder species. Really good place for natural food

We visited the Royal Botanic Gardens in the Autumn, my favourite time to visit Edinburgh! So many golden brown trees, plants and plenty of wildlife. We also visited the huge Victorian tropical house which is beautiful from the outside and adorned with rare and exotic plants from orchids, succulents, cacti and more. The fish pond is also a great spot to sit and reflect!
Beautiful and amazing variety of plants and trees from around the world! We spent all afternoon here. Lovely, tranquil and informative way to spend our afternoon!!

Just outside of the main shopping area, this little store is well worth visiting. Homeware are organised by room and are of very high quality. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Wonderful selection of products and knowledgeable staff. If you are looking for something different, or even an exclusive item, I recommend a visit.

Managed to get a decent EC meter and propagation cubes for my orchid and carnivorous plants collection. Friendly and helpful staff!
Very convenient. Staff are helpfully. Only downfall is some things are over priced and no discounts for long term customers.
78 Princes St, Edinburgh EH2 2ER, UK – 0131 220 0507
Very good customer service. They take time to mentor you through. Highly recommend them
The staff here are brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Ended up buying the wedding rings from here while living in London because the service/experience was just sooo much better!

Staff were very helpful & welcoming. I knew roughly what I was after, but still needed a bit of advice. The lady behind the counter produced a number of options for me to look at. Hopefully, they helped me make the right choice.
Very helpfull stuff thanks my girlfriend love the ring:)

Great place to buy Nordic outdoor equipment. This particular branch is dedicated to tents so if you are looking for clothing and most accessories then visit one of the other branches.
Great range of products and amazing service. I ordered a product yesterday on the website and it arrived today in the best conditions.
72 Rose St, Edinburgh EH2 2NN, UK – 0131 341 2063
Prices similar to competitors, but they offer student discount so that's what gets me inside. A fairly large range and big sized shop (not as large as in Liverpool though). Staff friendly, and helpful. Only issue being a couple things didn't have price labels so you would have to find/ask staff.
I find it very difficult to get boots, rucksack and hiking clothing which fit me, to the point where I've just been using stuff I've owned for years which isn't great, but at least I know what the problems are. But after two weekends of not-very-enjoyable hiking, feeling too hot, too wind-blown, and too wet, and constantly trying to adjust by taking things off and putting other things on and then off again, I decided to try Cotswolds (I normally shop at the less pricey Mountain Warehouse). And I'm glad I did: the lovely sales assistant, Sarah, listened really well to what I wanted and didn't want, and found several really good options which fit me and had the features I wanted, and she talked me through several rucksack options, discussing very knowledgeably all the features, and I'm really, really happy with my purchases. I went into the shop feeling I probably wouldn't find anything close to what I wanted - this has happened many times before - and I've come away feeling satisfied that the rucksack and jacket I bought are the best possible options for me. The shop has lots of good stock, but Sarah's help was crucial for me.

Just so helpful w delivery and great natural foods for the cat/dog
Very good pet supplies shop and they sell some reptiles and small pets like guinnea pigs and rabbits. They have a vast array of cat toys and accessories like collars, catnip, toys etc. They even have 2 resident cats in the shop. Edinburgh's premier pet shop and has a long established reputation from the days they were based at the end of London Road.
134 Easter Rd, Edinburgh EH7 5RJ, UK – 0131 661 8011
Excellent and friendly service. I have never been disappointed and every time I went I found what I needed, whether it is for my hamster or more lately dog. The owner always has good advice and is clearly passionate about animals. Prices are very, very reasonable for a small pet shop and sometimes cheaper than major pet supermarkets. I don't understand how people would be disappointed by the place, unless you don't understand the meaning of local shops or you expect Disneyland.
Capital Pets provides a fantastic service. If they don't have it in stock, they will order it. If you need some advice, they can provide it. Donald is passionate and knowledgeable, friendly and obliging. I got my first dog five years ago and have been a loyal customer ever since. Now I have two and they love going to visit the shop. Considering the size of the shop, there is a pretty big range (as I say above, they can order just about anything that they don't have on the shelf and have it delivered in a few days), and things are extremely reasonably priced. If I shop elsewhere, I inevitably feel a little bit guilty now, but more importantly, I invariably find out I get a worse deal.
43 Roseburn Terrace, Edinburgh EH12 5NQ, UK – 0131 467 6834
Nice wee boutique store. House of Hound is certainly the most visually appealing pet store in Edinburgh. Very clean and organised inside and the ever-changing window displays are fab. The staff are always cheery and willing to help. However, I do feel that the selection of goods could be better. There are times that I have popped in and left empty handed. I wish they offered a better selection of raw food and treats without grains or meat meal.
A delicatessen for dogs! What a wonderful range of food and treats. They really know their products and their customers. A very good range of leads and collars. A small but very comprehensive range of toys too. However it's their huge range of beds that surprised me. I really wish I'd known before we bought our dog his bed. Amazon can't really give you a decent idea of bed scale and certainly can't let you actually feel the beds! My only quibble? I always buy far more than I ever plan to!
129-130 Princes St, Edinburgh EH2 4AH, UK – 0343 777 1567
Your usual Sports Direct experience - too many items in too small a space... but cheap! Note though that they have really cleaned up the act in the last few years. I'm especially happy with the introduction of Firetrap in the collection.
Nice collection for all kind of sports wear from head to toe. You have different variety of products and brands you can choose from your likes. Price is also reasonable for most of products. Also if you want anything specific you can actully go online and order if not available at store or if available at store you can book it for your self. Also you get discounts when shopping online
24-26 Coburg St, Edinburgh EH6 6HB, UK – 0131 553 6003
The best place to get cricket goods!! Bats were on excellent offers on best price. Cheaper than online prices. Special mention on the friendly staff who point you to the best product and even best offers.
Fantastic shop try to get all sports items from here, bought some skipping ropes and the burst did not have receipt and did not expect to get a new pair for free but "the guy" sorry did not get his name was very helpful on such a boring item and replaced them no problem. Would recommend everyone to go, so helpful and friendly.
14-16 Hanover St, Edinburgh EH2 2EN, UK – 0131 226 4090
It's a clothing shop like you would expect a clothes shop to be, which is a good thing. The only remark I would have is that the store is rather small for the amount of available clothes and shoes. Cheers
When I go shopping at JD SPORTS All ways good service if they haven't got what I want in the shop they order the items I shan't all good
43 Raeburn Pl, Edinburgh EH4 1HX, UK – 0131 315 4646
Fantastic shop for stationery lovers. Excellent customer service who went above and beyond to find a solution for my query. Will definitely be back.
Wonderful neighbourhood stationery shop. Very good offering within the shop for personal or small business needs and, in my experience, any additional requirements can be delivered for the following morning. Mae provides a very helpful service.
81 Shandwick Pl, Edinburgh EH2 4SD, UK – 0131 228 6213
I went there to print some documents, get some photocopies and buy a few stationery items. They were super fast, quick, neat and helpful.
Went there once: a nice lady helped me find what I needed and the price was ok

I usually visit Paperchase to find a little gift or card that is quirky or different for birthday presents. Today I was browsing to find something for a friend. Saw a few things but have not made up my mind as to what I will finally buy. Will go back when I have made up my mind.
Love this branch, much bigger than my home Aberdeen branch, much more to look and browse through. They were having a 50th birthday celebration and had complimentary treats and scratch cards for offers. Staff were lovely and friendly, making sure everyone got a scratch card and answering questions collaboratively.

I originally found Richer Sounds through Amazon as I was looking for an amp to power two 100 watt vintage speakers my Dad bought in the 1970s. I spoke to a knowledgeable friend about the Amazon speakers and he suggested that I go into the Richer Sounds shop to get some advice. All in all a very good experience, it is quite a big ticket item for me so I was happy to make the purchase in the shop as I think I now have a product which I am comfortable will work well. Also, I have had a very nice email asking how everything has gone etc.
Honest advice from knowledgeable, professional and friendly staff coupled competitive prices on quality products makes Richer Sounds the best place for audio visual kit. Recently had a TV fail under warranty, no problems getting a credit note and good advice on choosing a replacement model. Would definitely recommend.

Surely staff ain't that helpful but the place is well organised and they do have better promotions than most of the other mobile providers.

Mairi created beautiful bespoke stationery for our wedding - the entire suite of stationery (save the date, invitations, transport cards, dietary cards, Thank You cards) were beautiful. She listened to exactly what I wanted and the result was stunning. I received so many compliments and would go to Mairi for any other big occasions. She also created beautiful new baby cards for us and they were just as beautiful!
We ordered wedding invitations from Mairi to our own spec she is a lovely lady a true artist we were so impressed with the cards & her service. Support local crafts they are the best.

The delivery service is super reliable and convenient ! I would 100% recommend for any event, they are talented and will exceed your expectations !!

We were recommended to Nadin by a friend and loved her example work online so much that we organised to meet for a coffee to discuss our wedding! Nadin and her now husband Mo kindly agreed to be our photographers in Tuscany and we could not have asked for better coverage of our big day. They arrived a couple of days earlier to scout out some amazing locations close by and the results were beyond what we were looking for! She (and Mo) was brilliant with us from start to finish and even now almost a year after our wedding she is still going above and beyond to help us. Could not recommend Nadin high enough!
Nadin got the best possible photographs because she made everyone feel so relaxed and at ease. She seems to intuitively know how to manage people to get the best shots and make everyone look amazing!

Great selection - possibly too great aselection for someone like me. Staff are helpful and the notes on the displays are a great help.
Great selection on wines from all over the world. Friendly and helpful staff are able to answer all your questions and make good recommendations. On this visit I noticed a whole shelf of various gins which seem to be the rave. They also offer free delivery.
