We had the best time at the Antiquary! Music, atmosphere, decent pricing, friendly staff - all wrapped up in a lovely setting on one of Edinburgh's iconic streets! Love it!
Great atmosphere, good food and good choice of beer. Folk night was brilliant

Great bar with a warm atmosphere. Excellent selection of whisky - in particular have multiple malts of the month so you can try a few different ones without spending too much money. Visited on a Friday night in December and was busy but service was still very good.
The Bow Bar has been around for over 30 years. Serving an extensive range of ale and over 300 whiskeys. There are eight air dispensing fonts with a regularly changing selection of ales. They have regular festivals and brewery takeovers. The bar can get busy in the evenings, as the bar staff care about what they are serving they don't rush people into deciding, this can lead to a little wait to be served. At lunchtimes there is a range of warm pies available. The bar has a no under 18, no sports colours and no stag/hen party policy.
Greenside Place, Edinburgh EH1 3AA, UK – 0131 557 0808
Very good atmosphere and attentive staff. Options at lunch are limited which is certainly a downside. The food available was good. The pizza was nice and well made. The noodles although slightly soggy are pleasant and the top of the list was definitely the pepperoni pizza. I’d say that the pizza is a good factor but if you just want pizza. There are better places. Would visit if hungry and need lunch.
One feels more of a number than a human being - I wonder whether they pay their staff enough. The price is right - a bargain if you have a hungry child. Definite brownie points for being able to drink tap water without any fuss. The food was surprisingly good. You can eat healthily if you look for the salads and vegetables and the Indian section had some very tasty vegetarian food. We booked for 14:30 which was nice since the place got gradually less busy. Desserts were very impressive.

Good restaurant. We had the 3 course meal option for around £13.50. It was good to get a taste of lots of things but the serving sizes were a little bit too small. Came here for haggis and wasn't disappointed, great place if you want a good haggis. Very nice atmosphere as well.
A cozy restaurant in the old part of town just behind the castle. Came here with a group of 12. Food came quickly but was pretty straight forward and nothing overly stood out. One of the stars I took off I because of the size of the portions, second one is because the was a massive draft from the emergency exit

Lovely warm cosy restaurant with excellent menu and good service
Excellent food and service. Great ambiance.
42 Dalmeny St, Edinburgh EH6 8RG, UK – 0131 553 7330
Great food, the service was excellent. The people couldn't do enough for you. Whilst the decor is a little bit dated and its in a dodgy bit of town it's still a great place to eat. I actually think it makes it slightly better because of these things. They also do delivery, and we will definitely be back again.
The food is great. The place is a little basic but who cares when the food is this good. Not a romantic kind of a place but when you want dim sum this is a place to try.
248 Morrison St, Edinburgh EH3 8DT, UK – 0131 221 1155
Nice food, particularly the dumplings and the aubergine dish but service was quite poor. Very slow service by waiting staff and seemingly no communication between them. We had the banquet which had a lot of tasty dishes but we did not receive one of everything, again I think related to poor communication between staff.
The food was brilliant, service was excellent and staff were incredibly friendly. Well done!!

Celebrated my 80 th birthday in the room downstairs with 17 of family and close friends. The meal was excellent The staff were very friendly although they were very busy upstairs as well. Would recommend this restaurant to all my friends We had the banquet but Special menu was accomadated for celiacs and diabetic Thank you for making my birthday special
Overall, this restaurant is recommendable and very reasonable! I was satisfied as to three points. Hospitality, the Price, and of course, the taste. Although it was so busy that three staff had to manage about 15 tables, they worked efficiently and customer-friendly. Some are very polite and humorous as we are Japanese and they know Japanese greetings and songs then we could make favourable interaction. We used for 4 people and had 7 plates of meals for sharing and 8 pints of beers but it was only about £108. The taste is reliable as we got fully gratified and could complete them all.

Dishoom is one among the best Indian restaurant in Edinburgh. I definitely recommend to all my friends and family around Edinburgh for all time. Friendly staffs and they do recommendations on menu items which is fantastic, but there is no reservations so we need to wait in waiting area near bar ground floor. All items are delicious and won't take more time serve. Available with variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. Staffs are really amazing and helpful.
Myself and 4 friends visited Dishoom on Friday evening for dinner. As it was very busy we waited downstairs and had a drink in the bar, great atmosphere and the cocktails were tasty! We were buzzed to our table and quickly seated. We were looked after by Justin, his service was exceptional. His knowledge of the menu was great, he laughed and chatted to us - he really went the extra mile. The food was delicious and every dish was a taste sensation. The whole evening was brilliant from the minute we arrived until we left. Great food with amazing service to match. This is the best dining experience we’ve had in a long time. Thank you to Justin & the rest of the staff at Dishoom for having us! Katie, Nicole, Kirstyn, Pam & Eilidh :)

First visit was first time eating out for Xmas dinner and based on this experience I would definitely do the same in future. Very friendly staff and service and nice surroundings. The menu is quite extensive and it was good to be able to pick from so many dishes for xmas. Food tasted great too - will definitely return.
Service and staff are always amazing. Menu has old favourites and a few more unusual dishes.

great fud and service. really good ambience . best in town. definitely worth the visit.
Good food, attentive service. I was a bit concerned by the number of one-review posts here but it really is a decent place.
42 Queensferry St, Edinburgh EH2 4RA, UK – 0131 225 6937
Good meal and customer service. My wife's main course was free as it was her birth month. Our server accidentally spilled my espresso so we weren't charged for dessert! Good service!
To had our christmas lunch in zizzi. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the cocktails. the food was excellent and it satisfied our needs at the time and it was a pleasant dining experience. Zizzi is an excellent choice if you love Italian pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven. They only have a limited number of pizza options but the food is excellent.

Great service very attentive staff helpful. Food excellent good choice of menu food was very tasty And good presentation. Manager helped us choose cocktails and even gave us a sample to help us make the right choice. Good price. A very good evening.
Great service. Food good. Wine decent. Location excellent.

The place is nice looking and the staff is very friendly. It's easy to find the place as it is very central. Food is good and tasty. We've been there for work night out and I can say that the service was really fast considering that they were cooking for 19 people. I would recommend to visit. The only criticism is that due to the place was full, it was quite noisy and struggled to hear each other at the table.
The staff here are always very friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the food is fantastic. I've been here with colleagues, with family - including small children - and with friends. Very much recommended, although if you're not after an early lunch then you may be as well to book a table.

Lovely little cafe with plenty of seating. Self service school canteen style service is fun. Food was absolutely amazing! Nice and hearty on a cold day. Prices were good and portions were more than adequate. I can't wait to go back!
I loved my vegan haggis but the other people at my table were disappointed with their meals. They were quite pricey small salads. Adding to that, the cafe was freezing when we went. Outside was below freezing and there is no porch as a buffer to the elements or heating. They had put tiny space heaters in the corners but sadly they made little difference. We ordered some homemade ice cream which was bland and icy and so we left it untouched. 40 minutes later it still hadn't melted! One other plus point was the lovely waitress who was attentive and welcoming.

Top notch restaurant : great atmosphere, staff and food. We got there without a reservation but they accommodated us all the same; the dishes were amazing even if on the pricey side - flavorful and balanced. Vegan and gluten free options are clearly labeled. A must try when in Edinburgh!
Food excellent but service a little on the swift side. Would have preferred to not have the entire Friday dining rushed through in 45 mins. It’s nice to take your time over a meal.
71 Rose St, Edinburgh EH2 2NH, UK – 0131 629 2990
I can't imagine why anyone would give this restaurant anything but five stars! We dropped in on the off chance on our last night in Edinburgh and were we in for a treat? Intimate atmosphere, friendly and very helpful staff who spoke and understood English perfectly well and a meze menu to tempt any discernible palette. We chose are own dishes, knowing how filling a set menu can be and we were not disappointed. Every dish was a taste sensation and everyone else we spoke to in the restaurant felt the same. Pricey? Give over - we paid what we would expect for such an excellent meal and such good service.
Lovely food. Was with a big group so was treated to a lovely spread. Staff were so friendly and helpful.
5 Merchant St, Edinburgh EH1 2QD, UK – 0131 225 1770
Sat in the 'Enoteca' part of the restaurant which is dubbed as the less fancy more relaxed bit but in reality seemed the nicest bit. However you will need to take quite a walk up two flights of stairs (or lift) to the toilet. Decor and atmosphere was great and the staff very friendly and attentive. The main dishes we had were tasty. Olives were a bit disappointing though and the wine tasting flight felt overpriced for fairly average wine. The by-the-glass wine menu is however great so I'd recommend you have 2-3 small glasses of wine that you know you'll like, or at the waiter's recommendation.
Absolutely stunning restaurant in The heart of Edinburgh. Being very familiar with Italian cuisine this was very nice. Is must go to place for brilliant food and service especially on a vallentines meal👍🏻
1a Rutland Place, Edinburgh EH1 2AD, UK – 0131 656 2811
Interesting rustic decor, comfy and snug feeling to the place with distilling kit around the place that could be a prop in a DrWho episode. Not much choice for non gin drinkers, some real ales, and the gin drinks are pricey, more so when you throw in £2.50 for tonic. A place to go to impress a trendy crowd maybe.
Get here early and it's great. We've tried a couple of times before later in the evening and not been able to get in. Get a seat and enjoy the table service of a very large range of drinks.
38-38A George St, Edinburgh EH2 2LE, UK – 0131 225 3408
Good cocktails that were a decent price based on location. Good music and good bartenders.
not sure on music but chilled vibe and lovely cocktails
