1-3 Cumberland St, Edinburgh EH3 6RT, UK – 0131 558 3134
The Cumberland is a pleasing traditional pub in the stunning surrounds of Edinburgh’s New Town. A good range of beers (including alcohol free) are available. The pub itself is split up into a series of smaller rooms with chairs, benches and stools. It does feel like the Cumberland has been here as long as the stones it’s built from...
Ruddy good roasts, when they book they ask if you're bringing a dog which to me is the sign of the best kind of pub. Great traditional place with some lovely features. Don't get lost when you go to the toilets.
29 George St, Edinburgh EH2 2PA, UK – 0131 226 9971
Staff slow to notice when you need something (table service). Food is good, better beer selection would be appreciated.
A popular trendy wine bar. Great for groups and sharing bites are delightful. They changed the tables layout recently which in my opinion was not a great idea as it has not added seating. A little ambience is lost.

Visited the Mitre twice at the weekend. Very lucky, weatherwise as we were able to sit outside in the sunshine. The beers were good. Although we didn't eat there, the food looked good, pub grub but a good deal more. Good vibes. I could quite happily go back there.
This is one of the most exciting pubs in Edinburgh City, Scotland, Located along the famous Royal mile. It serves some fantastic traditional British or perhaps Scottish pub Dishes as Scots might like to hear it. They have live music every evening every day of the week and they brings in some amazing bands and artists to perform. Good selections of drinks and the atmosphere is just so relaxing and refreshing in its own rights. I can't forget to mention the warmth of the stuff too.

Superb place, cosy and welcoming. Very relaxed and friendly. We had the 7 course tasting menu, every dish was excellent, as were the matched wines. We've enjoyed many fine dining and Michelin restaurants and the Purslane is better than many of them! I can't say enough about how good this place is, its now a favourite and we will be back when we return to Edinburgh. If you're a "foodie", then you owe it to yourself to come here!
Excellent! Very well looked after by the Two front of house staff. An extremely confident and well thought out menu, all good cooked perfectly. Thank you.
69 N Castle St, Edinburgh EH2 3LJ, UK – 0131 226 1155
Excellent meal & service. Sommelier was very knowledgeable & chefs went out of their way to provide a full vegan 7 course meal. Beautifully presented.
we had a work dinner at their private room, which was very nicely decorated. The food was good but I was I think it should have be better, although the presentation was very original, maybe flavour were not great because it was a set menu, the service was excellent, they manage to adapt or offer a different dish to someone from our group who was allergic to fish.
78 Commercial St, Edinburgh EH6 6LX, UK – 0131 555 1755
Wow, just wow! A superb lunch, I'd argue the best in Scotland. A great relaxing location without some of the pomp that goes witg fine dining. Tom loves food and he loves Scotland. There is no way you can doubt either by the end of your meal. Will be back again soon we hope!
Had dinner at the Kitchin last night as a birthday treat. Amazing food and service. These best you will find anywhere. Lots of lovely touches to make it a memorable experience. What a wonderful place and can’t wait to come back for lunch.

We all enjoyed a banquet on Saturday night. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The waiter was most attentive and took my allergies into account when choosing the food. It was a lovely experience.
My uncle owned this restaurant in the early/mid 1990s, my grandparents lived in one of the top floor flats too, it's a place that's near and dear to my heart so obviously I'm going to be a bit biased! Fast forward to October 2017 and not much has changed. The atmosphere is nice and the food is still great
27 Bernard St, Edinburgh EH6 6SH, UK – 0131 554 5292
Thought that I would give this restaurant a try as it's under new management also offering 20% off on food and drink Myself and my wife ordered Spicy chicken wings for starters, followed by Lemon chicken and boiled rice and Special Chow Mein. The starter and mains were absolutely lovely, I'll definitely be back trying something else from the menu.
Just ordered a delivery tonight ,great food loved it so much the crispy chillie beef ,was lovely . Prompt service ,and arrived hot.A lovely delivery driver to .

The best Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh! We’ve been to this restaurant twice and it does not make us disappointed. We really like the atmosphere and enjoy the food, especially the steamed duck.
Went for a pre theatre meal with 2 friends last night at the recommendation of a work colleague. The service was excellent, the decor was tasteful, the toilets and restaurant were spotlessly clean, the tables were spacious, and last but not least, the food was spectacularly brilliant. This will be the first of many visits to China Town Restaurant!
31 E Market St, Edinburgh EH8 8FR, UK – 0131 558 7683
Excellent food with lots of vegetarian dishes. The atmosphere and ambiance are fantastic! Prices were a bit high for the portion size, but I am willing to pay more for great food and a great atmosphere. Our primary server was not very good (annoyed with our questions, unhelpful and unfriendly) but the rest of the staff was hard-working, kind and helpful. We would most definitely return!
I dined here twice during my brief visit to Edinburgh. The food was excellent and I am very picky about Indian food. Being indian I don't accept shoddy substitutes. But this place satisfied even me. The only thing lacking was a limited drinks menu and even limited drinks knowledge in the staff.
10-12 Craigleith Rd, Edinburgh EH4 2DP, UK – 0131 332 3362
Meal was lovely, very tasty and nice quick service from friendly staff Would recommend this restaurant for lunch or an evening meal as prices are very reasonable I would definitely visit again
Hate to say it but almost to great a service, to the point that it's uncomfortable. I was asked 3 times if everything was ok with the food ( which it was , food very tasty) I had only taken a couple of mouth fulls. I just wanted to say and everyone take a breather. I would say that the price was a bit steap . I have had the same food for cheaper.

Nice staff, good food/menu and prices. Would visit again!
Excellent, every time I come to Edinburgh I have to visit zest. The food is excellent and the taxi driver special is too die for. Flavours are unbelievable and staff are so attentive and professional
42 Queensferry St, Edinburgh EH2 4RA, UK – 0131 225 6937
Really nice place, the menu has loads of options even for dietary customers. The only reason why I have three stars was because the staff look like they could not care less. The type of service was just below average. Ive been there a few times and every time I ask a waiter for something: they turn to me with that look you give when like they're annoyed you need something.
i don't usually go into Pizza restaurants, however after last night's experience I'm asking myself why. The wild boar meat balls with chili and tomatoes was excellent as was the Italian hot pizza. Would recommend this venue.
103 George St, Edinburgh EH2 3ES, UK – 0131 225 1550
Very good service, friendly staff, salad buffet healthy and tastes better than expected. Only problem I had was it said the pizza buffet was open weekdays, but on the bank holiday it wasn't. If they said it was on a sign or something it would be a 5 star review
Wonderful service overall. Very attentive waiters. Presentation of food was excellent-very colourful and creative, but was exaggerated price for the flavour of the Food!
9-13 Shandwick Pl, Edinburgh EH2 4RG, UK – 0131 241 1048
I've been in this restaurant few times. Last time was for Valentine's Day and it was great, as always. They have good vegan menu and their homemade lemonade is really tasty. Staff is very friendly. It took us long time to get the bill last time we went, but they were quite busy so it's understandable. We'll return for sure.
Very impressed with the wine selection, and the glasses are quirky. Meals are fairly priced and of good quality - only ever had pizza, but has always left me feeling fresher than elsewhere. Complimentary shot of lemonade at the beginning of the meal is a nice touch, and staff attend to customers well. Would definitely recommend to a friend!
25c Thistle St, Edinburgh EH2 1DX, UK – 0131 225 2605
Lovely little cafe with plenty of seating. Self service school canteen style service is fun. Food was absolutely amazing! Nice and hearty on a cold day. Prices were good and portions were more than adequate. I can't wait to go back!
Booking is necessary (we saw many people turned away) though it's well worth making the effort. You get excellent service and delicious food. Very reasonable price too. Highly recommended.
56-58 St Mary's St, Edinburgh EH1 1SX, UK – 0131 556 5888
Amazing vegetarian and vegan restaurant in the heart of the Old Town. Been coming for years and never disappoints! Friendly staff, lovely ambience, superb food and drinks. Taken non veggie friends and that love it too.
Had a lovely dinner for 2 with my lady for my birthday here. The service was impeccable, the food to die for, and excellent wine and cocktails too. Lovely vibe in here, feels very upmarket, and the attention to detail on the dishes doesn't go unnoticed! Will definitely come back here!

Good curry house. Nice range of menu items. This place is licensed but also operates as a Bring Your Own Bottle, and so if you're looking for a particular drink to go with your meal it's worth popping into one of the supermarkets along the road to stock up.
Very good place with a great atmosphere and even greater food. I highly recommend the chicken tiki masala. The waiters were very nice as well! A great place and will be going there again.
38-38A George St, Edinburgh EH2 2LE, UK – 0131 225 3408
Good location and decor and a decent selection of drinks
Was in Madogs for the first time in a few years on Friday night (6th Oct) and it was like old times. The music was fantastic, brilliant DJ! (He wasn't at all bothered by our constant requests). We danced till throwing out time and had the best night ever. Will be back soon....same DJ please!

It was definitely a tough decision to rate this bar with 3 Stars. The ambient in here is definitely very nice and you can easily spend some time here. Also the staff was very nice an helpful. Unfortunately I didn’t like their cocktails. We had 3 different Gin based cocktail and these were all ok but really nothing special.
Amazing selection of different Gins- all with descriptions so you learn about them too! Gin cocktails and non-gin cocktails. Very unique, warm decoration. Went on Valentine's Day and it really was perfect. I'm sure they will play varied music, but on the night we went they were playing a lot of Led Zep- which was awesome and just perfect for me and my partner!
89 Rose St N Ln, Edinburgh EH2 3DX, UK – 0131 225 8225
With an inconspicuous entranceway signalled via the warm glow of a lantern that sits above its simplistic wooden doors, the experience starts with finding and entering this incredible cocktail den. A unique place with an amazing atmosphere and incredible selection of cocktails I would go as far to say that this is very likely one of the best bars in Edinburgh. I was impressed by the knowledgeable staff who helped me select the best components for my favourite drink, the old fashioned. I took the recommended rye bourbon and it resulted in the best version of this classic that I think I've tasted. The use of a single large ice cube in the drink that didn't melt away in thirty seconds like in so many places was a touch that left me feeling that this business cares its customers. Overall a classy establishment .
Had some lovely cocktails here on the first night of our Edinburgh trip. They let us book a table for the two of us which was great. A really cool, quirky, speakeasy style place. Beware, the cocktails are strong!
