Had a lovely stay! The hotel is in an ideal location close to all the main attractions, bars and restaurants. The staff are really friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. The hotel was very clean and the rooms are quite modern too. The only thing I'd say is that the bathrooms aren't very private with frosted glass doors and there was a gap around the door even when shut. Not a massive problem but better privacy would have been better. But overall great stay and I definitely recommend staying here!
I just checked in, but so far I'm loving the hotel. Price is good. Room is comfy. It has everything I need. I appreciate the attention to detail. For free water, there's tag says "take me I'm yours" so you don't need to worry about whether it's free. There are tons of free movies to watch. Bathroom amenity is limited. That's probably my only complaint. I think they offer free coffee and tea 24 hour. The guy helped us to check in is super friendly and welcoming. Too bad I didn't get his name.

My colleges and I stayed here recently for a business event nearby. The location is very central and is a great base for anyone who would like to explore the City. Lots of bars, restaurants and shops on the doorstep. When checking in the first thing we all noticed was how friendly the staff were - we were given a very warm welcome. Rooms were small but perfectly functional and also very cool and modern. Shower was great. I would definitely stay here again as the staff made our visit a very pleasant one.
Superb hotel. Even though we arrived after midnight the staff were amazing. Rooms were fabulous, quiet location even though there are restaurants nearby. Very central. Will definitely be back. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I stayed at The Edinburgh Residence the first week of March. I was made to feel like a very welcomed guest by all of the staff that I met. The residence has a classy old world elegance that still makes you feel cozy. I loved returning in the evening to an espresso or mocha from Stefano and chatting about my day at the front desk. My room was warm and comfortable even with all its elegance. The view looking over Dean Village was beautiful (even when it was snowing). The added bonus of a nespresso in the room meant I could have an espresso at my convenience in the morning. I never did take the time to have breakfast delivered, but I did thoroughly enjoy the afternoon tea in the drawing room.
Just superb. Wonderful room. Great service. Great location. Great view from rooms at back

Great local pub. Although we were definitely not locals, we were made to feel at home. Excellent service and great food. Highly recommended!
Me and my friends had a lovely weekend in Edinburgh and to top it off we went here for a classic Sunday Roast. I have to say it was one of the best Sunday roast I have ever had, the beef was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. Amazing highly recommend.

The food was excellent, I had an amazing shepherds pie. The service was fast and very pleasant. Although its also a pub downstairs, the upstairs does not feel like one... I Really recommend this place
Nice place. The fish and chips was too greasy though and the dish could have tasted of more. Delicious sticky toffee pudding! Good, friendly service.

A great pub! It was packed when we arrived, so we had to wait a little for our order to be taken but afterwards the service was friendly and very fast. Nice beers, cider too sweet for my taste. Food was excellent. Especially the haggis lollipops. I really like the eclectic decor with lots of books and a chandelier made of wine glasses.
We wandered in here on a night when there was a game so the place was packed. We managed to get a seat after hovering around the bar area for a while. It was meat night so they bring whatever the special is that night on a board with a side and two drinks included - can't remember the price now, but it seemed like a good deal at the time and it was delicious and generous portions. The meat that night was Chicken Kiev. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The menu wasn't extensive, but offered more variety than many pubs. Definitely a step up from the standard pub but with all the charm and warmth of one. Service was a little slow as they were slammed, but whenever they did come by, they were absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful. The crowd got loud when there was a goal or a miss, but always in good cheer. Never aggressive. We weren't planning on staying long, but the cocktails and vibe were so great that we had to stay and try more. The Ginger Nut was my favorite.

John is an amazing hist and the accommodations were fantastic. John has a great knowledge of the area and if he recommends some place, accept it as fact.
Great location on a beautiful Georgian Street within 15 minutes walk of the City Centre. Our host made us feel very welcome and ensured that we had everything we needed, or wanted. We will definitely come back.

Lovely B&B, Caroline and Michael couldn’t have been better hosts, with fantastic full English breakfast and service. Great shower, comfy bed and 15 minute walk into town (or £4 uber!). Also parked here which was handy. Only suggestion for improvement would be a full length mirror in the bedroom.
Very friendly very clean very good breakfast. A very pleasant stay.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Bell Place apartment - Edinburgh We needed accommodation in Edinburgh for one month, and it was our language institute that recommended us to contact Dickins based on previous positive experiences. We are delighted with the extraordinary treatment received by this company, and we will certainly use their services again in the future. The sales manager helped us choosing an adequate accommodation for our stay, matching our requirements with the purpose of our visit. The property itself was clean, well equipped, and strategically located. One night we suffered a technical issue (circumstances beyond Dickins' scope of responsibilities), and we received prompt and efficient help by the company's emergency helpline, and the problem was solved within 30 minutes. On top of that, the company's managing director came to check the same night in person if everything was resolved satisfactorily.
Rented a flat from them- very lovely, very kind people with amazing properties. We were welcomed in our flat by an amazing hamper of delicious groceries which was very helpful as we arrived late- full of goodies for all Travellers such as coffee, cookies, milk etc In addition, there was an abundance of toiletries provided from wonderful Brands such as white company etc - they even thoughtfully included face wash! All this was very helpful for road weary Travellers. In addition, they were so prompt when we contacted them about anything- honestly the most efficient service I've experienced in the UK (which includes 4 years in Scotland and 3 in London) :) :)

We have stayed here every other year for eight years it is a beutyfull cottage it is so well presented spotless and decorated to a very high standard New heating this year very nice you can see sue the owner takes pride in this gem of a place and she is so welcoming when you arrive if you are thinking of booking this place then don't hesitate. ( as long it's not when we want it ) If it's Edinburgh you want then you must stay here location location it's brill for old part and new part it deserves a big 5 star ( sue if your wondering who this is it's the Welsh four rugby surporters booked. Under Simon roll on 2019 )
Superb location within walking distance of many/most of the tourist 'must sees'. Easily accessed by road, rail or bus. Offers all that you'll need for a self-catered stay, long or short, plus a few thoughtful extras. Quiet at night (passing traffic ceases pretty early), a cosy hideaway at the end of a day exploring Edinburgh and beyond. the place is clean and well maintained. The owner, Susan, was efficient and friendly with excellent communications via email, as well as offering local knowledge when we arrived and making herself readily available if required. A good experience in a beautiful City.

One of the best place to stay. We spend there two nights at the beginning and at the end of our tour in Scotland in Edinburgh. There is a very nice customer service. You get a map to the bathrooms, which are one of the best we met in other campsites. Amazing organization, views and it's close to the sea and city. I would definitely visit them again.
This site is very close to the Firth of Forth, across a road and down a steep slope and you are there. We used public transport to visit the city, the buses do not give change and we found that a £4 day ticket was cheaper if you wanted to visit more than one attraction. It's is £1.70 per ride otherwise. By walking up the path at the side of the site and reaching the main road you have the choice of several bus routes, leaflets are available at reception. We found the staff very helpful and gave assistance with coinage. Note the Britannia is about 4 miles from the site. Would recommend that the approach to the site is via the city bypass (A720) it would seem that all roads in the area are in need of repair.
