I can only go with what my friends say , the were visiting me and stayed here they enjoyed it very much and would be happy again to stay again
The days spent in this guest house were almost the better ones in our holiday in Scotland. The owner were very kind and polite and the house is so beautiful! We paid by Visa by a card reader linked to a smartphone app: I didn't know this system. Wonderful! We advice this guest house, definetly!!!

Excellent bar downstairs and lovely quiet restaurant upstairs. Great service, food was good, beer was good, whisky was good. Also do a malt of the month (or was it week?) which is discounted. I'm just travelling through Edinburgh and almost stopped in the spoons as it was convenient - glad I poked my head through the door!
Absolutely love this place and make it a must stop every time in Edinburgh. The Cullen skink soup is great and the lunch and dinner specials always hit the mark. I posted pics of the fish and chips lunch, was more high end than your typical spot and you can see the dungeon across the street from the window. Restaurant upstairs and Doric pub downstairs.

Delicious food and really kind staff. Also, great prices! We will definitely be returning! I love that it is tucked away and off the trodden path.
Really good food , friendly Staff and great old style Pub

This place is a great if you're looking for that local british pub grub :) I took my visiting friend here from America as he wanted to try something traditional and he was absolutely delighted by his experience here. They offer a wide variety of classic Scottish cuisine such as haggis, and the big portions are definitely filling! The atmosphere is also very lively and loud, so if you're looking for a more chill environment this might not be for you. They also have a god range of drinks and interesting cocktails. The staff here are also lovely, and happy to help! However, I would definitely recommend booking a table beforehand as it does get quite busy since it's in central area. This place is quite pricey though, so if you're looking for something cheap then maybe this isn't the best option :D However, it's worth it for the experience!
Warm, lovely atmosphere. The pub has lots of nooks and crannies, perfect spaces for every groups size, including solo. Excellent food (smoked mackerel on toast and beetroot, apple, and bleu cheese soup) and a half-decent cappuccino...I would honestly live in the corner they sat me in, so lovely.

Castle View Guest House is a nice and homey place to stay in Edinburgh. It is basically close to everything: castle, tram stop, department stores, pubs etc. Our room was cleaned every day, the heating worked just fine and we were supplied with coffee, tea, shortbread and candy. The breakfast was spot on. They had a great selection: absolutely delicious full Scottish breakfast and porridge and other offerings with orange juice/tea/coffee, fresh fruits, cereals and yoghurts. All these with a nice view of the city. One thing I would warn you of though is that they have lots of stairs (no elevator!). Otherwise I do recommend this accommodation! Oh, and if you decide to choose this place do not miss to visit the pub called The Amber Rose whether to just grab a beer or have dinner, it is amazing!
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Great value for the price. Highly recommended for the cost conscious traveler.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

As you'd expect for a caravan Motorhome club site, immaculately kept, facilities kept in perfect order and very welcoming and informative staff, good layout and spacious pitches, comments regarding planes are a bit picky as you hear the odd one and they're not directly above, Edinburgh City is easy to get to using local buses but I'd highly recommend the minibus service, it's quick easy and the driver is a mine of information. We were there for Xmas and on Xmas morning a member of staff came round with a little gift for the kids, this is the sort of thing that makes these sites so good, the staff.... People say they're too expensive but you k ow the quality and service is always worth it, big applause to the staff from us
Great site friendly warden immaculate toilet blocks. Can't fault it. If I was to make one comment it is on a flight path but not at night so I didn't lose any sleep.
