I really liked the room, very very clean and spacious! 5 stars for the room alone, but I was a little bit disappointed with the breakfast. It was quite basic and the scrambled eggs lacked taste and had a weird texture. It was not very pricey though, so I won't complain too much. On the bright side, the room where it was served was very nice and bright in the morning!
Lovely warm friendly staff. Clean comfortable rooms and a great hearty breakfast. Really lovely overnight stay. Perfect location as we were seeing Wicked at the Playhouse. 😊😍😊😍

Booked this hotel last minute for a weekend get away. The hotel is easy to find and there is pay and display parking outside. The hotel was clean and tidy, with a very confortable bed. Only complaint would be that the room was chilly upon returning in the evening, but this was quickly solved by turning on the radiator. Overall a great hotel and great value for money. Would definitely stay again.
Very close to Edinburgh City Centre , you can walk into town or get the he bus at the end of the road. Had a lovely stay with very helpful and friendly staff. Room clean breakfast not bad but like many places it's timing not to get dried out bacon. At the time of review it's £8.50 and eat as much as you like, if you have a delicate tummy it's not ideal. But I enjoyed my stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Garlands Guest House for two weeks with a break of a week in between, to visit Paris. The hosts of this lovely establishment Bill and Ian, could not have been more accommodating. The building itself is strikingly Georgian in era, is tastefully decorated, yet welcoming and comfortable. I found my bedroom, with a window view of the garden, coming into bloom, to be cozy, with a most comfortable bed and pillow cases. What I enjoyed the most was the large spacious ensuite with up to date amenities. The breakfast items offered in the beautiful dining room were plentiful and the sunny ambiance of the room got me off a great start of the day for sightseeing in Edinburgh. The hosts had an excellent knowledge of this historic city and all my questions of not to miss attractions were answered. I highly recommend this venue as an outstanding place to stay while in Edinburgh!
I can only go with what my friends say , the were visiting me and stayed here they enjoyed it very much and would be happy again to stay again
15-16 Market St, Edinburgh EH1 1DE, UK – 0131 225 1084
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the old town of Edinburgh. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and slightly longer wait times for food leads to excellent fare. I ordered their fish and chips, and found the haddock flavorful and flakey. Despite being in a dish which might mask such mistakes, it was not mushy. The beer battering accentuated the flavor of the fish but did not overpower it. My father ordered the Sheppard's Pie and found it had a good ratio of meat to potatoes, and contained mostly lamb, which was "very tender." The atmosphere of the restaurant is very warm and inviting. I was very pleased with my experience here.
We're a group from Singapore and Australia, we tried Haggis for the first time (it was wonderfully spiced and whisky sauce was amazing. Flavour of spices in the Haggis reminded me of an Indian dish), Fish & Chips, and desserts were amazing too. Coffee was not good.
1-3 Cumberland St, Edinburgh EH3 6RT, UK – 0131 558 3134
The Cumberland is a pleasing traditional pub in the stunning surrounds of Edinburgh’s New Town. A good range of beers (including alcohol free) are available. The pub itself is split up into a series of smaller rooms with chairs, benches and stools. It does feel like the Cumberland has been here as long as the stones it’s built from...
Watched Scotland beat England in the pub. Good food, nice selection of beers. great place for a pint and a meal.
131-133 High St, Edinburgh EH1 1SG, UK – 0131 652 3902
I came in here to try a traditional meal of Haggis, Neaps, and Tatties and was not disappointed. The service was very friendly and prompt and the prices were fair considering the excellent food quality. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to eat while exploring the royal mile!
I really like the Mitre.... sure it's a wee bit pricey but that's down to its superb location. Good staff. Good beer.

Quite good rooms nicely decorated , breakfast nice , it's where the wind in the willows author was born apparently . Lots of steps though and all up and down stairs so wouldn't be good for the mobility impaired. Staff got a bit flustered when there were lots of people at breakfast but looked like it was a small family owned business rather than a corporate affair so you can kind of understand it. Lots of nice little historical touches e.g . A bust of Robert burns in our room. Left coffee out on side for guests in dining room on hot plate which i bought was nice. Nicely furnished accept plug socket on wall hanging off which worried me a bit. But generally had a very nice time, beds comfy, very clean & generally nicely decorated with fairly courteous staff.
This is a great place to stay if you are going to Edinburgh. The staff here very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are of a high standard and spotless. Good selection for buffet breakfast, you can also order from the menu too. There is a great view of the castle here, also bus stops right on the door step. Easy walking distance to anywhere you want to visit. We have stayed here on many occasions, will definitely do so again.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Bell Place apartment - Edinburgh We needed accommodation in Edinburgh for one month, and it was our language institute that recommended us to contact Dickins based on previous positive experiences. We are delighted with the extraordinary treatment received by this company, and we will certainly use their services again in the future. The sales manager helped us choosing an adequate accommodation for our stay, matching our requirements with the purpose of our visit. The property itself was clean, well equipped, and strategically located. One night we suffered a technical issue (circumstances beyond Dickins' scope of responsibilities), and we received prompt and efficient help by the company's emergency helpline, and the problem was solved within 30 minutes. On top of that, the company's managing director came to check the same night in person if everything was resolved satisfactorily.
Rented a flat from them- very lovely, very kind people with amazing properties. We were welcomed in our flat by an amazing hamper of delicious groceries which was very helpful as we arrived late- full of goodies for all Travellers such as coffee, cookies, milk etc In addition, there was an abundance of toiletries provided from wonderful Brands such as white company etc - they even thoughtfully included face wash! All this was very helpful for road weary Travellers. In addition, they were so prompt when we contacted them about anything- honestly the most efficient service I've experienced in the UK (which includes 4 years in Scotland and 3 in London) :) :)

We have stayed here every other year for eight years it is a beutyfull cottage it is so well presented spotless and decorated to a very high standard New heating this year very nice you can see sue the owner takes pride in this gem of a place and she is so welcoming when you arrive if you are thinking of booking this place then don't hesitate. ( as long it's not when we want it ) If it's Edinburgh you want then you must stay here location location it's brill for old part and new part it deserves a big 5 star ( sue if your wondering who this is it's the Welsh four rugby surporters booked. Under Simon roll on 2019 )
Superb location within walking distance of many/most of the tourist 'must sees'. Easily accessed by road, rail or bus. Offers all that you'll need for a self-catered stay, long or short, plus a few thoughtful extras. Quiet at night (passing traffic ceases pretty early), a cosy hideaway at the end of a day exploring Edinburgh and beyond. the place is clean and well maintained. The owner, Susan, was efficient and friendly with excellent communications via email, as well as offering local knowledge when we arrived and making herself readily available if required. A good experience in a beautiful City.

This site is very close to the Firth of Forth, across a road and down a steep slope and you are there. We used public transport to visit the city, the buses do not give change and we found that a £4 day ticket was cheaper if you wanted to visit more than one attraction. It's is £1.70 per ride otherwise. By walking up the path at the side of the site and reaching the main road you have the choice of several bus routes, leaflets are available at reception. We found the staff very helpful and gave assistance with coinage. Note the Britannia is about 4 miles from the site. Would recommend that the approach to the site is via the city bypass (A720) it would seem that all roads in the area are in need of repair.
Superb facilities, very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Easy to access public transport to the city and ocean terminal. Large site with spacious pitches. Some road noise. Great dog walk around spoof woods!
