Great room, great food, great service!! Loved it

Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh - Royal Mile

300 Cowgate, Edinburgh EH1 1NA, UK – 0131 524 8400

10-15 minutes leisurely stroll to Edinburgh castle or new town. Clean, comfy practical rooms with comfy beds. Fantastic breakfast. Price was fair for how close we was to everything. Very impressed with the breakfast, they werent stingy at all. Would definitely come again.

I got a really good value for money booking a couple of months in advance. The room was nice and clean with all the amenities I needed, friendly staff and a good breakfast included with your stay. Recommended.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Edinburgh

80 High Street,The Royal Mile, Edinburgh EH1 1TH, UK – 0131 557 9797

Great hotel and very reasonable considering the location. Rooms facing the street can get noisy due to late night revelry in the street so best to book early and ask for a room round the back. The leisure facilities are great, the staff are awesome and the rooms are very nice and clean. The breakfast was the best offering I think I have had in a hotel thus far and I stay in a lot of hotels.

Perfect hotel for my overnight stay in Edinburgh. I've always liked the look of this hotel from the outside and it didn't disappoint. Great location on a main road and easily accessible from the railway station. Easy to book online, look out for some great last minute offers. Easy check-in and the room was ready early which was a bonus. Bedrooms are quiet, comfortable, well decorated, clean and a good size. Check-out was quick and bags left in storage so I could explore more of Edinburgh. Didn't get further than the Museum of Scotland which is 5mins walk away. Spa, bar and restaurant not used this time but looked interesting and definitely something for the next visit which will be for the festival in August. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. offers competitive rates for any type of hotel, from small independent hotels to a five star luxury ones. Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Doric

15-16 Market St, Edinburgh EH1 1DE, UK – 0131 225 1084

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the old town of Edinburgh. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and slightly longer wait times for food leads to excellent fare. I ordered their fish and chips, and found the haddock flavorful and flakey. Despite being in a dish which might mask such mistakes, it was not mushy. The beer battering accentuated the flavor of the fish but did not overpower it. My father ordered the Sheppard's Pie and found it had a good ratio of meat to potatoes, and contained mostly lamb, which was "very tender." The atmosphere of the restaurant is very warm and inviting. I was very pleased with my experience here.

The most amazing pub food I've ever had! The portions were huge and the set up was gorgeous, the service was prompt and efficient. It's very busy every night of the week and only has 10 tables so would strongly recommend to book in advance - also the sticky toffee pudding I ordered was amazing!!! I ate it all before I could get a pic but the potion was HUGE

The Cumberland Bar

1-3 Cumberland St, Edinburgh EH3 6RT, UK – 0131 558 3134

The Cumberland is a pleasing traditional pub in the stunning surrounds of Edinburgh’s New Town. A good range of beers (including alcohol free) are available. The pub itself is split up into a series of smaller rooms with chairs, benches and stools. It does feel like the Cumberland has been here as long as the stones it’s built from...

Ruddy good roasts, when they book they ask if you're bringing a dog which to me is the sign of the best kind of pub. Great traditional place with some lovely features. Don't get lost when you go to the toilets.

The Mitre Bar

131-133 High St, Edinburgh EH1 1SG, UK – 0131 652 3902

Visited the Mitre twice at the weekend. Very lucky, weatherwise as we were able to sit outside in the sunshine. The beers were good. Although we didn't eat there, the food looked good, pub grub but a good deal more. Good vibes. I could quite happily go back there.

This is one of the most exciting pubs in Edinburgh City, Scotland, Located along the famous Royal mile. It serves some fantastic traditional British or perhaps Scottish pub Dishes as Scots might like to hear it. They have live music every evening every day of the week and they brings in some amazing bands and artists to perform. Good selections of drinks and the atmosphere is just so relaxing and refreshing in its own rights. I can't forget to mention the warmth of the stuff too.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Frasers Bed & Breakfast

The room was spacious, and members were friendly.

McCrae's Bed and Breakfast

44 E Claremont St, Edinburgh EH7 4JR, UK – 0131 556 2610

Great location on a beautiful Georgian Street within 15 minutes walk of the City Centre. Our host made us feel very welcome and ensured that we had everything we needed, or wanted. We will definitely come back.

Spacious, clean, modern rooms and bathrooms, excellent beds and linens and a quiet convenient location around the corner from a lively street with good restaurants. There are only three rooms and the owner takes care of everything personally and is affable and helpful. It's a continental breakfast, just as described on the website, and the owner kindly kept food available for us when we slept late. We were delighted with our stay!

Castle View Guest House

30 Castle St, Edinburgh EH2 3HT, UK – 0131 226 5784

This is a great place to stay if you are going to Edinburgh. The staff here very friendly and welcoming. Rooms are of a high standard and spotless. Good selection for buffet breakfast, you can also order from the menu too. There is a great view of the castle here, also bus stops right on the door step. Easy walking distance to anywhere you want to visit. We have stayed here on many occasions, will definitely do so again.

Lovely staff and guesthouse in a good central area near Prince's street. Spotlessly clean and breakfast lovely! Negatives are a lot of stairs to climb especially if your in single room at very top but I was prepared for that and I use a walking stick! My room Highlander did not have a view of the Castle and the TV remote has no battery cover so using the tv was awkward to the point I switched it off! Little things that are worth noting for any future guests.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Dickins Edinburgh Ltd

17 Dundas St, Edinburgh EH3 6QG, UK – 0131 558 1108

Bell Place apartment - Edinburgh We needed accommodation in Edinburgh for one month, and it was our language institute that recommended us to contact Dickins based on previous positive experiences. We are delighted with the extraordinary treatment received by this company, and we will certainly use their services again in the future. The sales manager helped us choosing an adequate accommodation for our stay, matching our requirements with the purpose of our visit. The property itself was clean, well equipped, and strategically located. One night we suffered a technical issue (circumstances beyond Dickins' scope of responsibilities), and we received prompt and efficient help by the company's emergency helpline, and the problem was solved within 30 minutes. On top of that, the company's managing director came to check the same night in person if everything was resolved satisfactorily.

Rented a flat from them- very lovely, very kind people with amazing properties. We were welcomed in our flat by an amazing hamper of delicious groceries which was very helpful as we arrived late- full of goodies for all Travellers such as coffee, cookies, milk etc In addition, there was an abundance of toiletries provided from wonderful Brands such as white company etc - they even thoughtfully included face wash! All this was very helpful for road weary Travellers. In addition, they were so prompt when we contacted them about anything- honestly the most efficient service I've experienced in the UK (which includes 4 years in Scotland and 3 in London) :) :)

64 Frederick St, Edinburgh EH2 1LN, UK – 0131 208 1005

Jon was very attentive when we first arrived and couldn’t have done more to make us feel at home. He gave our stay a very personal touch. We loved our apartment as it had everything we needed and location was spot on! We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Innercity let’s to our family and friends. We’ll be using them again for sure!

Fantastic communication from time of booking with Jon. Great, spacious and clean apartment with all amenities you need Amazing location at the bottom of Royal Mile. We felt very safe and secure which was very important to us visiting with our child. Will definitely use again!

The Mews Cottage

Campsites and Caravan Parks

Edinburgh Caravan Club Site

35-37 Marine Dr, Edinburgh EH4 5EN, UK – 0843 504 8772

Nice tidy site with a pleasant walk along the shores of the Firth of Forth. Fare distance to the nearest shops. Fantastic help from a warden with a flat battery. Deserves a medal!

What a gorgeous site!! I expected a space overshadowed by the city, but this is peaceful, near to the lovely Cramond Beach and very well managed. I'll be back 😊
