Golf Clubs near Edinburgh

Find your nearest golf course or club or golf pro in or around Edinburgh. Actually this is really great way to see all the golf courses around Edinburgh at a glance. You will see distances and directions from you location and of course the all-important telephone number to check green fees and whether you can play when you want to play. Whenever I want to play it seems to be a Medal Day!

Tip! If you would like a cheap round of golf ask whether they do a Twilight rate. There is really nothing nicer than 9 holes after work - at half price!

Golf Courses

Murrayfield Golf Club

43 Murrayfield Rd, Edinburgh EH12 6EU, UK – 0131 337 3478

Played here for many years in the mixed open and the Gents foursomes. The course is immaculately presented and the staff are great. The professional shop could not be more helpful. Unfortunately this year the half way stop off was closed. I have never seen any problem in the mixed open to warrant it's closure. I also personally have played in the Gents Foursomes for 34 years and loved the convivial atmosphere and friendships I/we have built over all these years. I am advised the stop off has been withdrawn for this event as well. Questionable if I/we will return. Such a pity.

Love this place!! It's a high class establishment with great service. Number 1 recommendation.

Golf Equipment

Cotswold Outdoor

72 Rose St, Edinburgh EH2 2NN, UK – 0131 341 2063

Prices similar to competitors, but they offer student discount so that's what gets me inside. A fairly large range and big sized shop (not as large as in Liverpool though). Staff friendly, and helpful. Only issue being a couple things didn't have price labels so you would have to find/ask staff.

I find it very difficult to get boots, rucksack and hiking clothing which fit me, to the point where I've just been using stuff I've owned for years which isn't great, but at least I know what the problems are. But after two weekends of not-very-enjoyable hiking, feeling too hot, too wind-blown, and too wet, and constantly trying to adjust by taking things off and putting other things on and then off again, I decided to try Cotswolds (I normally shop at the less pricey Mountain Warehouse). And I'm glad I did: the lovely sales assistant, Sarah, listened really well to what I wanted and didn't want, and found several really good options which fit me and had the features I wanted, and she talked me through several rucksack options, discussing very knowledgeably all the features, and I'm really, really happy with my purchases. I went into the shop feeling I probably wouldn't find anything close to what I wanted - this has happened many times before - and I've come away feeling satisfied that the rucksack and jacket I bought are the best possible options for me. The shop has lots of good stock, but Sarah's help was crucial for me.
