Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

Bicycle Shops or Bicycle Accessories Outlets or Cycle Repairers

Pedal Forth

17 E Cromwell St, Edinburgh EH6 6HD, UK – 0131 554 9990

Great service, bikes for rent in very goid condition, fast service, very friendly staff! We were delighted, thank you guys!!! Also Edinburgh is a fantastic city for bycicle riding!! Highly recommended! 👍

After experiencing some of the rubbish bicycle shops with all their bicycle snobbery I have to say you guys are the best in town. Friendly enthusiasts, lovers of cycling and on a mission to get regular people cycling, you guys are the best and truly deserve a 5 star rating. Nice one lads!!!

Leith Cycle Co.

276 Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 5BX, UK – 0131 467 7775

Just had my bike serviced here. Really impressed with the work and the customer service. The guy only sold me exactly what I needed (even pointing me to a cheaper service), explained everything, and answered all my questions. Really helpful! Will definitely be coming back and have recommended to all my friends.

Good service, nice guys. Good local bike shop, got booked in and my back break fixed inside 48 hours.

Eastside Bikes

1 Cadzow Place, Edinburgh EH7 5SN, UK – 0131 466 1740

I don’t usually bother to give anything a review but I feel that they deserve it! They have really reasonable prices and completely sorted my bike out for me. Would definitely go back again if needed :)

Very helpful and approachable staff who know what they’re doing and won’t charge you stupid money! Even helped out with things I hadn’t thought to ask about. Will definitely go back!

Cycle Hire

Cycle Scotland

29 Blackfriars St, Edinburgh EH1 1NB, UK – 0131 556 5560

We hired two electric bikes at a brilliant price for 4 hours. Not only were the bikes and their price great but we were advised of a brilliant route which meant we got the most of our time with them seeing as much as possible of Edinburgh off the beaten track! When we come back we’ll definietky be booking onto one of the guided tours.

Had a great tour of Auld Reekie today. It was cold and blustery but that is Scotland. Peter was great took us to places other tours would not. I recommend this tour for anyone seeking for an active experience in Edinburgh

Alpine Bikes

48 Hamilton Pl, Edinburgh EH3 5AX, UK – 0131 225 3286

Superb shop, excellent customer service and extremely attractive staff (especially the short English guy).

Electric Cycle Company

133 Granton Rd, Edinburgh EH5 3NJ, UK – 0131 552 0999

Ridgeback Electron: With its convenient step-though frame, relaxed geometry and upright position, the Ridgeback Electron is a great around-town bike. When paired with a front basket and panniers it would make the ideal shopping bike. Surprisingly quick and nimble, I had no trouble navigating my way up and down the cobbled hills of New Town. My first electric bike experience and it was much more enjoyable than I anticipated. Bike was loaned while mine was in the workshop.

We are delighted with our Bergamont e-bikes from the Electric Cycle Company. Neill and Richard could not have been more helpful when my husband and I were looking for bikes to take when touring in our motorhome. In particular they went to a great deal,of trouble to modify my suspension seat post. Must also say how amazing their mechanic is.
