Computer supplies and consumables

User2 Computers

65 Inverleith Row, Edinburgh EH3 5PX, UK – 0131 552 3493

Listened to issues with my wife's laptop, suggested a solution and quoted the costs. Returned two days later, as promised. Now works better than when first purchased. Thank you.

I would highly recommend User2. I have used them on a number of occasions and the service is first class. Being a local computer shop it’s easy to pop in and get their expertise on any issues I have, nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

Flying Computers

167 Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 8NR, UK – 07411 987300

I’ve used Flying Computers twice. The first time was a battery replacement for my 4S around 2012/13, the second was a home button replacement for my trusty old 5S today. Service was quick and friendly. The repair was estimated to be 15 mins. It was completed in around 10. The price was very reasonable. I would have no hesitation in using the shop again.

Great service, great price and honest staff with lots of knowledge and skills. Down side, they are closed on the weekend.

Escape Computers

5 London Rd, Edinburgh EH7 5AP, UK – 0131 661 0664

I spilled water on a Macbook Air a few months ago and took it to the Apple Store, they told me to buy a new one, because water damage is impossible to repair. This one day I was on a jogg around Arthur's Seat and noticed Escape Computers and decided to ask if it's possible to have the laptop checked. I came back later and left the Macbook at the shop. Grzegorz checked the device and sent me a message that he can fix it and he also gave me a price on how much would the repair cost. The price was very reasonable. A few days later I went to pick up the laptop and it was good as new! I can't really even describe how pleased I am for his help. Least I can do is to write a review and recommend him to my friends. If you want a device repaired well, Grzegorz is the best man for the job.

My laptop was stuck after a forced update and I was afraid of losing all my pictures and documents. A friend of mine advised to try Escape Computers for their fast and reliable service. I took the laptop on a Saturday morning and it was ready the following Tuesday (less than two days as Saturday afternoon and Sunday they are close). Windows 7 was also reinstalled as I had asked from Windows 10 that I never liked. Great service from Gregor who was also patient with the questions I was asking. I would highly recommend this store.

Stationery and Office Supplies

Paperchase

77A George St, New Town, Edinburgh EH2 3EE, UK – 0131 226 4323

I usually visit Paperchase to find a little gift or card that is quirky or different for birthday presents. Today I was browsing to find something for a friend. Saw a few things but have not made up my mind as to what I will finally buy. Will go back when I have made up my mind.

Love this branch, much bigger than my home Aberdeen branch, much more to look and browse through. They were having a 50th birthday celebration and had complimentary treats and scratch cards for offers. Staff were lovely and friendly, making sure everyone got a scratch card and answering questions collaboratively.

Ryman Stationery

81 Shandwick Pl, Edinburgh EH2 4SD, UK – 0131 228 6213

I went there to print some documents, get some photocopies and buy a few stationery items. They were super fast, quick, neat and helpful.

Went there once: a nice lady helped me find what I needed and the price was ok

Scribbler

80 Princes St, Edinburgh EH2 2ER, UK – 0131 220 5793

If you find yourself on Princess street and require a card this is where you should shop, a cool and wide selection from birthday day to novelty cards. There is something for everyone, from snarky, sarcastic cards to more heartfelt messages. If you have something to say to a loved one or friend, head to Scribbler and say it in style! The staff also deserve a mention, they are very friendly and happy to chat, it doesn't feel forced though they come across as nice people looking to help!

Lovely cards and delightful staff. Can be pricy but worth it. Surprising how much they fit into a small shop
