From fiction to Scottish and academic books, plus stationery and gifts, Blackwell's has a vast stock and helpful staff.
I had recently purchased two ebooks from online service. When i called the helpdesk, the lady ( I think Joe) was very helpful and patient. She gave appropriate information. I bought two with quite similar names thinking one is a basic and another advanced, discussed this with the lady, she was happy to refund if they both were same. They both turned out to be same. On Monday I spoke to Dave and told him the situation. He promised and refund and refund arrived within half hour. Thank you for such a hassle-free customer service. CK

I was due to meet an author (Peter V Brett) for a signing and I was running late due to transport problems. I spoke to someone called Elsa who was brilliant. She took my details and offered to get a booked signed and dedicated if I didn't get there in time. Elsa even took the time to tell me that the time of the event had changed aswell which was great. When i got there the staff were brilliant in proving me information about the event and organizing the signing event.
Fantastic bookshop. Multiple floors, helpful staff that allows you to get lost in the shelves but will be there to help you if you need help or book suggestions. There is a Nero coffee shop inside which is always a bonus for bookworms. Happy readings.

Very charming little bookstore with antique and vintage books from mostly Scotland. It was a little crowded on the day we popped in. I was hoping to find an older Scottish cookbook but I didn't see any (I didn't ask for assistance, either, so perhaps they did have some.) They also have really nice old prints from books and magazines, fashion, botanicals, and maps that are matted and ready to frame, if you love collecting old prints. Very reasonable prices as well.
Enchanting spot on the marvellous Royal Mile. Definitely don't regret getting by!
